Douglas Ferguson

President

Douglas Ferguson is an entrepreneur and human-centered technologist with over 20 years of experience. He is Founder and President of Voltage Control, an Austin-based facilitation agency that specializes in helping teams work better together through participatory decision making and design inspired facilitation techniques. He has helped transform teams from U.S. SOCOM, the Air Force, Adobe, Dropbox, Fidelity, Vrbo, Liberty Mutual, Humana, and SAIC.

 

Douglas is a thought leader and master facilitator of Design Sprints, Innovation Workshops, Team Alignment Workshops, Transformations, Meeting Systems, and Culture Workshops. He is also the author of three books: Beyond the Prototype, How to Remix Anything (co-authored), and Start Within (co-authored).

 

Motivated by a mission to rid the world of horrible meetings and offer meaningful meetings in their place, Voltage Control is calling upon fellow facilitators to transform meeting and innovation culture. From free weekly community meetups to Control the Room–the annual facilitator summit, Voltage Control is building a community of facilitators to change the world.

 

Erik Skogsberg

VP of Experience

Erik helps people design lasting growth and transformation. He brings fifteen years of teaching, design, professional learning and development, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), organizational change, and research experiences from across secondary education, higher education, and industry contexts. Whether working with individuals, teams, or organizations, Erik believes that a deep empathy and caring, rooted in human-centered design, systems thinking, and futures thinking best supports clients in finding their solutions.

 

As Associate Director and Head of Design at the MSU Hub for Innovation in Learning and Technology, Erik guides the Hub’s design strategy and design operations, supports Hub project teams as they execute the project portfolio, and helps to infuse design and design thinking across strategic planning for MSU. He has facilitated a variety of courses and workshops focused on designing learning experiences, teaching and facilitation, innovation, design, and organizational change. He earned his B.A. in English Literature from Western Washington University, M.A.T. in Secondary English Education from Brown University, and Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Curriculum, Instruction, and Teacher Education.

 

Hassan Ghiassi

VP of Relationships

Over the past decade, Hassan Ghiassi has facilitated 956+ discussions that matter, with 10,000+ people, and has been established his unique approach to dialogue in the United States, Iceland, Myanmar, Mongolia, Thailand, Indonesia, and India.

 

His spaces provide the chance for diverse groups of strangers to come together and meet face-to-face, creating an opportunity for prejudices and misunderstandings to be overcome through personal growth and effective communication. Allowing individuals to reflect and progress towards better insights into themselves, and accepting those who might share different beliefs.

 

Not only is Hassan VP of Relationships here at Voltage Control bus has been trusted by The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, the On-Being Team, Fortune 500 Companies, non-profits, and Community Organizers looking to improve everything from better communication to creative solutions to complex problems.

 

Kierra Johnson

Community Manager & Social Media Coordinator

Kierra Johnson is the Community Manager at Voltage Control and host of our weekly meet up sessions in the Facilitation Lab. She has developed a passion for community and bringing people together for as long as she can remember. A part of the community relations and customer service industry for over 5 years, she continues to implement this service expanding our network of facilitators through our Control the Room community. With the development of a true passion for people, she strives in building long-lasting relationships with clients in their communities and organizations. Building community through the Facilitation Lab, while networking with people of many industries and backgrounds inspires her to stretch the community to new heights each week in the Lab.


Annie Hodges

Facilitator

Annie loves building teams that uphold cultures of trust, resilience, and innovation. This matters for companies and organizations who are reckoning with how to move forward in a new era of work. She specialties in training professionals to be better collaborators, designing and facilitating (magical) meetings and conferences, and strategic organizational development. Currently, she’s a Workshop Facilitator at Voltage Control, a change agency that helps enterprises sustain innovation and teams to work better together with custom-designed meetings and workshops, both in-person and virtual.

Jamie LaFrenier

Executive Assistant and Operations

Jamie LaFrenier is Executive Assistant and Operations at Voltage Control where she works with the entire team to support their efforts. She is an organizational ninja and jack of all trades. Her experience in everything from sales to customer services to administrative work allows her to  focus her work in many different areas and assist where she is needed. She is also an avid lover of reading and dogs.
