An Introduction

Douglas Ferguson is an AI transformation speaker and the founder of Voltage Control, a facilitation-led AI transformation consultancy in Austin. For two decades he’s helped leaders run better meetings, make harder decisions, and move faster without breaking their teams. Today his work focuses on AI transformation and the human side of AI adoption: what changes, and what doesn’t, when AI enters the room. Douglas has spoken at events in Austin, San Francisco, New York, Boston, New Haven, Dallas, San Antonio, Denver, Lincoln, Columbus, Paris, and Vegas.

Speaking Topics

New Friction

When AI enters the room, the bottleneck stops being coordination and becomes trust. This talk reframes what AI adoption actually demands of leaders, and why the teams who navigate it best are the ones who facilitate it best.

AI at Work

Most AI transformation efforts stall in pilot purgatory. This talk walks leadership teams through what actually moves AI from experiment to operating system, drawn from real engagements inside enterprise organizations.

Facilitating AI

AI doesn’t just change the tools, it changes the meetings. This talk makes the case for facilitation as the missing skill in AI adoption, and gives leaders a practical model for what good looks like.

Magical Meetings

Most meetings fail because they’re designed to inform, not to move work forward. Based on Douglas’s book, this talk gives leaders a repeatable model for meetings that actually change what happens next.

Beyond the Prototype

Innovation usually dies in the gap between a great prototype and real adoption. Based on Douglas’s book, this talk maps the messy middle and what it takes to actually ship.

Liberating Structures

A practical introduction to the microstructures that unlock how groups think and decide together. Audiences leave with techniques they can run in their next meeting.

Prototype Differently

This talk reframes prototyping as a tool for alignment and decision-making, not just design polish, and shows leaders how to use rough artifacts to move teams faster.
